Go Gothic With Northanger Abbey

Jane Austen em Português showcases Catherine Morland and Isabelle Thorpe reading gothic novels. In honor of our fellow Janeites in Portland, who are attending a meeting with the theme of The Abbey, we showcase this wonderful image of the two actresses from Northanger Abbey 1986.


The actresses are: Catherine, Katherine Schlezinger and Isabella, Cassie Stuart.

Go Gothic with Northanger Abbey begins today at Austenprose. Don't miss out on all the Gothic fun of Jane Austen's novel Northanger Abbey as the group read begins tomorrow, October 2nd with chapters 1-3. It should be an eerie excursion into this parody of the Gothic fiction that was popular in Jane Austen's time and experiencing a resurgence today.
