Yes Janites. Just when we thought that Aisha, the new Bollywood take on Jane Austen’s Emma was the last new adaptation in the pipeline, indie production company PaperCut Productions LLC has announced a new contemporary movie of Pride and Prejudice. According to the Pride and Prejudice 2005 blog, who seem to be the only source of information at the moment, filming will begin in Colorado in June 2010. Check out the cast and photos on the official P&P 2010 web page on the PaperCut’s website. Of particular note is actor Caleb Grusing who will be portraying the iconic Mr. Darcy. ReplyDeleteI agree with Megan - this one is too young, too cute, looks like a babe in the woods. Mr. Darcy shouldn't have a James-Dean look as this (otherwise nice-looking) young man does. Mr. Darcy needs to look sophisticated, suave, authoritative.
ReplyDeleteI think after seeing this new version I will still be in love with the last one with Matthew and Kierra. Yes this new Mr. Darcy is Handson but he looks like the guy on USA tv show "Burn Notice." Also, the other cast member dont look as young as they should be. All the Bennett sisters look like there in the 20's and 30's.

ReplyDeleteHe certainly is not Matthew Macfadyen (my personal favorite Mr. Darcy), but that doesn't mean he can't play Darcy...lol. He's more like an American Darcy though. Probably better than the Bride & Prejudice Darcy and 2003 P&P Darcy, and he hasn't started filming yet...haha!

What? Are guys on crack? He is GORGEOUS!!! No offense to Matthew McFayden or Collin Firth but they just weren't that great looking. I never really saw the appeal of Mr. Darcy (except in the book) until I saw THIS Mr. Darcy! Finally an actor as handsome at the Mr. Darcy I've always imagined! I can't wait to see this film!

Re: the Bennet actresses, not one of them is over 17, with the exception of the girl who plays Elizabeth. She's in her early 20s.

this guy should do some other movie about like a guy in the jungle or something !! he would fit that role soo much better !
my personal opinion (and im american) : only british guys are fit to play darcy. the end. :)
