When Phoebe, a young niece of Pride and Prejudice's Mr. Darcy, is shattered by an unhappy romance, she retreats to Pemberley and is joined by kind-hearted Louisa Bingley, unmarried after three London seasons. Once the young ladies are situated in the house, several handsome strangers also arrive — all hopeful of winning the girls' hearts. As preparations for the ball which Mr. and Mrs. Darcy are to give at Pemberley gain momentum, mischief and love triangles abound, making life as difficult as possible for anyone connected with the Darcy family.
Populated with authentic characters firmly rooted in Jane Austen's mores and stylistic traditions, Mr. Darcy's Dream has an unforgettable combination of romance, societal scandals, friendship, family, and marriage.
Aston may be one of the most successful Austen sequel writers ever and her five former popular novels are a testament to her talent and vision. I enjoyed Mr. Darcy’s Dream and you can read my review at Austenprose.

I think Mr. Darcy's dream for anyone dear to him, being a man of sensitivity and imagination, would be that they would find true love as he did---*swoon*
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the chance to win this book--I've got my fingers crossed ; )
I would say seeing all his family members happily settled for life. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would hope that Mr. Darcy's dream would be one that gave him his heart's desire, perhaps one of true, devoted, and undying love. (As we all dream of!!) :) Afterall, what are dreams if they cannot be realized?
ReplyDelete~Unfurling Flower~
I would guess that Mr. Darcy's dream is for all of his family to stay healthy and happy. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think Mr. Darcy's dream would be to get everyone married off so he and Elizabeth can have the house to themselves. :)
ReplyDeleteSurely Mr Darcy's dream is rather a simple one, that his dear Lizzy is always happy .
ReplyDeleteLook forward to reading the book!
Oh I would be so happy to win this book. I love Jane Austen but have not read this book.
ReplyDeleteMr. Darcy's dream therefore must be for me to win! LOL
Knowing Jane Austen and how her stories are always about love I think his dream would be about either finding and being able to be with his one true love or that someone in his family would.
Hugs,
Joanne
Besides the already-stated "happiness for all" suggestions, I would also think that Mr. Darcy would dream of honesty, integrity, and responsibility in his fellow man. After all, he had little disregard for anyone who did not display these attributes!
ReplyDeleteFor his family members to have the same happiness he has having married Lizzy.
ReplyDeletethat "My "Daughters" will have, after a little bit of trouble, all that they desire" :)
ReplyDeleteHis dream has been realized but his dreams for his dear friends and family go on and on...
ReplyDeleteI don't want to repeat what everyone else said so I'm going to say that Mr. Darcy's dream is that all of his dreams come true.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling Lizzy would be somewhere in there...maybe me too? Yes?
This book looks so cool! I can't wait to (hopefully) read it! :)

Fun giveawaya as ALWAYS and enjoyable video! I always enjoy your video posts.
ReplyDeletePerhaps... history repeats itself? Another Wickham type comes around to bring droom and gloom until the wonderful characters find out their true love for each other?
Mr Darcy's dream? Hhmm....
ReplyDeleteA fine stallion, faithful hunting Dog, gun's with a nice balance; no more of those damned assembly balls, Lizzie to stop nagging about rudeness to strangers.
How about an opportunity to go and fish in Pemberly's lake once in a while?
Get out of the house as much as possible! In order to escape Lizzie's social projects.
Phewww!
Being a romantic at heart, I would think Darcy's dream is that the girls find true love and happiness as he did with his Lizzy.
ReplyDeleteI love visiting your blog! And I loved the Elizabeth Aston video! :-)
Wonderful responses thus far!...I would echo that being that this is based on,and influenced by Jane Austen characters, that true love would be at the center of his dream. That love would be pure and honorable.
ReplyDeletePerhaps his dream is that his children choose partners as deserving of love as he and Elizabeth were, and that the daughters never fall prey to another Wickham.
Oh, I bet his dream is that he can marry Elizabeth, but never have to see or speak to her mother again! haha
ReplyDeleteI think (and hope) his dream is to meet the woman he admires and loves, but also that the woman admires and loves him. I think his dream is to marry for love and to share his life with someone that thinks same about things and wishes to share her life with him. And his dream comes true, he finds Elizabeth. But I think he also dreams that Georgiana finds a proper and good husband and that she also will have a change to marry for love.
ReplyDeletePeople from other countries can join the giveaway?!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'll try. I think his dream is, perhaps to see all the girls happy. I bet he is surroundes by smart girls, and the man are not so deserving. So he's worried with them.
I would say his dream is for his mother in law not to visit so much. :-)
ReplyDeleteMr. Darcy's dream is Elizabeth and having her choose to become his wife. He will love her forever. In addition, anything important to Elizabeth and to protecting the honor of her family will continue, to remain important to him and he will defend, advocate, and insert himself effectively into situations without the need for personal gain or accolade. Things that used to make him ornery will fade and he will be one whose opinions and ideas are much sought after. He will oversee Elizabeth's unmarried sisters should her parents come to
ReplyDeletea place where they cannot. He will continue to look after his own sister. Mr. Darcy's dream may also be to have a daughter by Elizabeth and thus be twice blessed in his life by having close to him the essence of his true love. At some point in time, someone will paint another magnificent Darcy portrait for a Pemberly wall, but he won't be alone. It will be a portrait of the handsome Mr. Darcy standing in formal attire with steady gaze at the camera, Elizabeth Darcy with a slight twinkling happiness about her expression, looking lovely and seated on a chair close and to the front of her husband, and, then, their little daughter - perhaps age 3 - with bonnet and baby doll, standing alongside her parents with her mother's arm about her... oh yes, and with the same "twinkling happiness" as previously described! I am not sure of their daughter's name, but Elizabeth had surely contemplated "Jane" for a number of reasons.
Nice giveaway! Count me in! I've posted it on my sidebar :-)
ReplyDeleteYou guy's really don't know men :)
ReplyDeleteNigel, you really don't know women either...we all know men's dreams, we're just too polite and lady like to spell it out...and I don't think this is the kind of blog that lends itself to that kind of talk !
ReplyDeleteHis dream is that everyone finds happiness.
ReplyDeleteHugs :)
Irma
I think Mr. Darcy's dream would be to have his family attached to people of sense and stability. If that comes with love - as he found with Elizabeth - then all the better. Can't wait to read the book and end the conjecture!
ReplyDeleteI think Mr Darcy's dream is making Lizzy feel very happy every day of their life together and wishing to all the members of his family to find true love as he had found.
ReplyDeleteI would like it to be about Mr. darcy's Point of view on the event that happened in Sense and Sensibility. Moreover about what he did, in the army for a little bit. I would really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteMr. Darcy's dream most likely would be to see his daughters married for love to successful men and for his only son married also for love to an intelligent girl and trained to run the Darcy holdings with success and charity.
