Emma and Irene - in Italian they sound differently - were the names I had chosen for my baby-girls to come. Never arrived: I have two sons, two enthusiastic footballers! Anyhow, I prefer Emma to Emily. Have a nice Sunday!
Catherine, Alexandra, Melanie and Elizabeth are my favorite girl names. I am unfortunately stuck for life with the plain, oft used as a middle name "Lynn" So any other girl name would be an improvement too !
I used to think Emma was an (not to offend anyone) an "old lady' name. Well most people I had me w/the name were over 70... It has grown on me along w/ Lily. Try having a plain name like Jane... no really I am Jane. If it want for Jane Austen, I would really dislike my 1 syllable name. I also love how Jane Austen has several characters named "Jane." Including the elegant Jane Fairfax.

Emily is my favourate girls name, although my niece is named Emma.
Gemima is cool too!
Emma is a really cute name, although I like Emily better, as well.
