Cool, Gray and Gorgeous: Colin Firth Arrives at the Premiere of "A Single Man" in LA

No words needed really. The photo of Colin Firth arriving at the premiere of his new film "A Single Man" in LA on Thursday just says way more than I could ever hope to express. *SWOON* His fashion designer turned director Tom Ford must have had a hand in selecting that awesome ensemble. Colin looks confident, collected and ready to win an Oscar.

Check out the full photo gallery of the AFI premiere at the Huntington Herald Dispatch. More Colin and the cast.

Can't wait to see the movie myself and talk about Colin through the award ceremonies in February. Squee!

  1. Could he be one of those special men who only get better looking with age? I suspect so.

  6. Hhmmm....(reflective pose).

Have you guys ever wondered if Mr Firth is perhaps a little too Dorian Gray?

    Nahhh!
I must be one of those jealous types.

    Still (quizical brow)?

  7. Does that poster really say, "A Single Man, A Film"? I've just noticed that books that take themselves way too seriously always have to declare on the cover, something like, "The Tale of Nothing, A Novel." Do movies really do the same?
But Colin Firth, yes, better with age. Love him and will definitely watch this movie.

  8. Nigel, Unfurrow those quizzical brows,
If he were "a bit too Dorian Grey", he would be much more handsome than he actually is...he is an actor, after all, just playing a part ( however, He will always be Mr. Darcy, no matter who he plays next ) No need for jealousy either...except he probably has more money than most of us mere mortals !!! ( eye wink ) Your comments are a welcome celebration of all things masculine, especially here !

  9. Thanks Nona Beach!

So Darcy is more of a spiritual ideal rather than the banal convenience as breeding stock?

  10. Nigel,

Yes, Darcy is a spiritual idea of the perfect man and husband material...good,handsome and rich ! I believe each woman has her own view and idea of just who Darcy is.

My opinion is that Jane Austen wrote him so that each woman could actually make her own version of Darcy to keep and cherish.

Oh my - he's still gorgeous after all these years since Pride and Prejudice :)
This is a random question but do you really think he makes a lot of money? From what I gather from interviews, he mentions that he has to keep doing big budget Hollywood movies that forces him back into "Mr. Darcyesque" roles in order to feed his family while he does these independent movies on the side to fulfill his acting desire. That implies to me that he doesn't make much money - but I suppose he may just be humble :)
