I'm still intrigued by Mr. Darcy's hair on my DVD cover (R) ... it is very stretched and different from that presented by Laurel Ann in her post (L).
This restored version promised an improvement in color that, in my opinion, has successfully been met.
I have captured a few Before and After images (click on them to enlarge):
I very much like the "Anamorphic "Widescreen Presentation", which was not available on the DVD released in Brazil.

It's not just Darcy's hair, that's a completely different picture of Colin Firth.
ReplyDeleteBubbaCoop,
ReplyDeleteyou are right... Indeed!
Someone else has this DVD, with the other picture?
I'm enjoying my copy too! I indeed did notice the different hair but thought it was just... me. ha ha
ReplyDeleteGreat side by side shots, it really shows the difference!
My old DVD version has the same image that you described on yours, Raquel
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly!! Different pic!
ReplyDeleteI recently purchased the restored Blu-Ray version of this and I was blown away by how good it looks. Well worth the price - the colours look amazing, much richer and you notice countless details such as fabric patterns, background activity, etc, that you just don't notice at all in the old format.
ReplyDeleteChaChaneen,
ReplyDeleteI am a very curious person, so I would like to know "why different pics"? LOL
Vic and Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI will try to know why...

ReplyDeleteI imagine the blu-ray is much better than this my version. Perhaps later I'll buy one... BBC's series are addictive!
What a difference...wish they would restore some other of my fav Austen adaptions too !
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting these pictures. I had seen both versions on Amazon. People were complaining about the color problem, but they didn't tell you which version matched the complaints. Much obliged. Lily
