Wish to Plan a Regency Ball?

If you are planning a Regency Ball, you would do well to copy the marketing techniques of the Regency Exhibition Hall Committee in Lansing, Michigan. The committee members used a creative medium in advertising the ball: The Internet. Click on this link for a delightful two minute YouTube advertisement, and click here to enter the blog.

This is the news release the committee distributed:

The Regency Exhibition Ball Committee, in conjunction with The Dressmaker's Shop and the Ann Arbor Council for Traditional Music and Dance, is pleased to announce our first Regency Period (1800-1825) ball! This wonderful historic event will take place on June 23, 2007, at the Central United Methodist Church located in Lansing, Michigan. The evening will be filled with authentic English Country Dancing and live music courtesy of Ray Bantle and Childgrove. Formal period dress is requested. Information for creating regency ball attire is available on our website. The cost of $15 in advance ($20 at the door) per person includes a dancing workshop for beginners from 4 to 6 pm as well as the formal ball at 8 pm, a music concert, period refreshments and games.
