Seen on the Blogosphere: Pride and Prejudice 1995

"But I can assure you," she added, "that Lizzy does not lose much by not suiting
his fancy; for he is a most disagreeable, horrid man, not at all worth pleasing. So high and so conceited that there was no enduring him! He walked here, and he walked there, fancying himself so very great! Not handsome enough to dance with! I wish you had been there, my dear, to have given him one of your set downs. I quite detest the man."
- Mrs. Bennet to Mr. Bennet, after the Assembly Ball,
Pride and Prejudice, Chapter 3

Hello!
Thank You for the article “Lizzy's Costumes: The List”. It is very nice.
When asked in an interview which outfit from P&P was her favorite, Jennifer Ehle answered:
“My favorite dress to wear was the red one. There was also a very soft, over-washed, faded cream, print one that I called Lizzie’s Levi’s.”
The red one I recognized but the “Lizzie’s Levi’s” could not. Somebody to help?
And what is the right spelling “Lizzie” as it is written on BBC P&P site or “Lizzy” as it is in the novel?
Best Regards!

It is Lizzy. Jane is infallible, we are not.

Have you thought of directing your question to the ladies at the Oregon Regency Society? Many of them are wild about costumes, and there is an entire section devoted to it on their forum. Here is the link.

Good luck!
