Washington D.C. area Janeites, put on your snow shoes and point your compasses to the Patrick Henry Library in Vienna, Virginia to join our Austen friend and author Lori Smith tonight as she speaks about her experiences while following in Jane Austen’s footsteps throughout England that inspired her book, A Walk with Jane Austen: A Journey into Adventure, Love and Faith.
After last weeks ice storm prevented Lori’s arrival to her first speaking event in the series for the Fairfax County Libraries at Sherwood Regional Library, we will keep our fingers crossed that weather permitting, the roads will be fair and a merry time will be had by all. The Sherwood Library event has been rescheduled for March 18th.
The next event in the series will be at Kingstowne Library on March 27th. All events start at 7:00 pm. You can warm up for the events while listening to a podcast of an interview of Lori by the Sam Clay, the director of the Fairfax County Library system on BookCast. Here are the details from the Fairfax Community section of the Washington Post.
