Jane writes rich characters. Sometimes I talk about the characters in the book as if they are real. I get so involved with the story that I have to stop myself from yelling at certain characters when they do something stupid.
Austen's writing is so refined, polished, elegant and intelligent, a pleasure to read. There's a forward motion to it - it practically reads itself.
