We've seen her play Kitty in 2005's Pride and Prejudice (at right in photo on left), Isabella Thorpe in Northanger Abbey, Ada Clare in Bleak House, and Rudyard Kipling's daughter in last year's PBS special, My Boy Jack. Carey Mulligan's star is on the rise. Praised for her performance as a 16-year-old in An Education, she is receiving accolades at the Sundance Film Festival this year. Currently touted as the next big thing, she promises she won't let the publicity go to her head.

A wonderful actress who has great range...I have been watching her for awhile too ! Glad to see she is being recognized for her talents too !
I first saw her in Bleak House and thought she was immensely talented and now it seems I see here everywhere.
Wow, she looks so different with dark brown hair. Kind of reminds of Michelle Williams!
I LOVE her! But wasn't her role as Isballa Thorpe in Northanger Abbey and not Persuasion?
Indeed. I was thinking Persuasion yet meant Northanger Abbey. Thanks for the correction. Duh. Vic
I really enjoy Carey! I loved her hair when it was blonde and put up. She is very pretty!
I first saw Carey in Amazing Mrs Pritchard...loved that series! and I've always enjoyed this actress who apparently is the next big thing now in the States. I always find it funny how they're about to become known when we already love them! But happy for her just the same!
Ooh, I love her haircut. I want it.
Carey always looks so different in her roles--she has great range.
