Seen on the Blogosphere: Mr. Darcy Photoshopped

Matthew fans: Hear me out before you storm my house and tear my door down. I adore Matthew Macfadyen and think his voice is beyond sexy. When a friend asked me which Mr. Darcy I preferred, I said that I could not choose between Colin Firth and Matthew. Both are eye candy and both made my heart pitter patter. These two images attest to the power of photoshop. With or without manipulation, Matthew is handsome, no doubt about it. So why was he turned into an ultra smoothie? Inquiring minds want to know. I agree with you. He does not need photoshop to look sexy.

Thank God!
No more Colin Firth.

Well, I guess this proves that no human being is perfect. I can't choose between Colin Firth and Matthew MacFayden either!

I think I've started to like Matthew McFadden. It's all in his eyes, which is why I like him all natural. The ruggedness makes him manlier and edgier in my opinion.

Though I'm not bashing Mr.Colin Firth in any way! He's great too, but Mr. MacFadden has more feeling in his eyes.

I feel like I'm committing a grave error. I'll stop now.

I like him in the first unretouched photo better. Although I like him anyway. And quoting what Marc Darcy said to Bridget Jones...
Matthew, I like you 'just the way you are. (sigh)

Version one: Approachable to all fans and groupies. Version two: Leaves us drooling and gives him time to escape. lol

To be photo shopped is the sincerest form of approval ( and it's fun to do too )...I prefer the unshopped version...no woman likes a man who is prettier than she is...LOL

AND Nigel,
I thought we settled the Colin Firth issue in a past post, but I guess old habits ( and prejudices ) die hard indeed...and so it continues...I, for one, am grateful for it !

When it comes to eye candy, Matthew wins by a slight margin. But he couldn't do the actual part of Darcy justice like Colin did.

Hello Lynn,

Unfortunately it is Mr Firth's, Lazarus-like quality I find difficult to comprehend :)

O.K. now Nigel,
Now I get totally where you're coming from and what a good laugh you gave me in the process !

In vain he has struggled against Photoshop!

Because pimple, broken capillaries, red blotches, frown lines and grease do not equal eye candy. But then, this guy is never going to be eye candy anyway.

I definitely prefer colin firth as eye candy and sheer pleasure in watching as an actor. I can't get enough of his smile and practically giggle out loud when he flashes one full blast. BUT there is something intriguing about Matthew's voice and he is delicious in his own right.

Mr.Matthew MacFadyen is the perfect Mr. Darcy's Jane Austen. MM is very talented. He does't need a photoshop. He is manly and gorgeous man.

Matthew McFadden, lazy bugger, has here used the same photo for two different work projects he has been taking part in. The first, one is for a programme , Race to The Pole, commemorating the Edwardian fascination with getting to the South Pole. This is the state of his face after trekking across frozen wastes at -40 degrees centigrade. The second is for his living corpse embodiment Ha! Ha! as the Werewolf in Werewolves of London just about to appear on our screens, courtesy of the BBC. Photoshop must have been the cheap option.
