I find people using the F word quite vulgar but Mr. Darcy's comment directed towards Caroline Bingley is hilarious as is his dancing! This sketch made me laugh so much! :)
Mitchell and Webb are two Cambridge graduates, keeping up the tradition of the Cambridge Footlights Review that spawned That Was The Week That Was and Monty Pythons Flying Circus.
They are very creative.
As for using the F word Miss Laurie, it obviously has a different acceptance here than it does in the States. Nobody really takes offence here.
The thing that I love most about this sketch is that Mr. Darcy is actually dancing to a piano forte version of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears :')
OH, that was too funny! I nearly choked on a biscotto (had to have something with my tea, didn't I??). I'm going to have to post this on FB.
What was great was how accurate the period details were. Loved Caroline's giant feather -- and thanks to Marloes for pointing out that it was a Britney Spears song!
Absolutely hilarious! Thank you for posting it. :)

ReplyDeleteOMG, where did you get this? I'm laughing non-stop. Mr. Darcy isn't handsome at all but I like his voice. But Miss Bingley and Elizabeth are great.

I almost laughed myself unconscious watching that! Wherever did you find it?
ReplyDeleteHi all, My boss (a Jane Austen fan) sent me this link. Hilarious. Vic
