I don’t own a Kindle, but I’ve been considering getting one for a while now – they don’t seem too expensive, considering the use I’d get out of it, and there are so many great book deals available, such as this one!
I do hope they release a similar 'real book' edition, although I fear it will be terribly expensive (and heavy!), so I'm inclined to get the digital version and hurry up with my purchase of a Kindle!
It does sound like a wonderful collection - everything any Austen fan could ever want, all for just under 3 dollars! Fantastic. I've always been fascinated to read her Juvenilia and older/unfinished works, but they're so difficult (often impossible) to get hold of. I’m especially interested in the letters, which I am sure will be a great insight into Jane’s world. This is so exciting, thank you for the post! :)

I imagine such a book would have to come in six volumes, Abbey, and would be hugely expensive, as you say. This is one of the advantages of Kindle, which can store hundreds of books.

I must add, though, that most of these offerings are available as eBooks online. I list a series of links on Jane Austen's World, Molland's offers quite a few ebooks, and, of course, one can always find many of them on Google books and Project Gutenburg.

This makes me wish I had a Kindle. I had no idea Austen wrote poetry.

I agree, kind of makes me want a Kindle. Is this something I can get for my PC?? I don't have an iPhone. Thanks for the info!

This is an incredible compilation, but which, pray tell, of Austen's works are newly discovered?

Looking over the list of selections, only Charles Grandison was not included in the Oxford Illustrated edition first published in the 1920's and updated through the 1970's. CG was published separately in the 1980's. What is newly discovered that I am unaware of?

Hi Laurel Ann,

This information comes directly from the Kindle marketing department. One imagines that a little liberty was taken. Still, for many who have not studied Jane Austen's life closely, her three prayers will be new, and the sheer completeness of this compilation will seem as if some offerings are "newly discovered."

A complete list of Austen's works ? I'm loving this ! Thank you !!!

BTW, no kindle for me...I enjoy the tactile sensation of holding a real book in my hands, turning the pages as I read, the smell of books in general and buying or making pretty bookmarks to keep my place until I return to read more...
