Jane Austen Game Throwdown

Last night my family and I watched a movie on commercial TV. During commercials we talked, or I played Angry Birds, or checked my emails and comments on my blog. Jane's family would read to each other, play cards or games, like checkers and backgammon, play charades or act in plays that Jane might have written, sing and play at the piano for a family musicale, or roll up the carpet for an impromptu dance. If you could go back 200 years, which leisure time activity would you like to experience with Jane Austen?

Hi Vic, ANGRY BIRDS???????

That is a new one on me so I looked it up.

Is this right?

"In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield. As players advance through the game, new birds appear, some with special abilities that can be activated by the player."

That sounds interesting!!!!!!!!!

All the best,
Tony

I've just had a good look at the picture of a family scene you have posted with this Vic. I think it is great. I love the look on the eldest daughter's face. She is staring at her dad and willing him to make a wrong move. You can sense her desire to win. Then there is the baby asleep on the mothers lap, looking so peaceful and included in the family group; loved and included.

That's what is missing from our society. All those rioters have NOT been, "loved and included."

Sorry Vic. All of a sudden i had this bitter thought about what is happening in this country at the moment.
